Album Color Theme

Album Color Theme re-tints the whole interface from the dominant colours of the album you are playing, so the app shifts palette as you move from one record to the next.

It is the single biggest visual change you can make in one click, and it works on every album because the palette is computed from the artwork itself.

How to enable Album Color Theme

Install YouTube Music Desktop App for Windows, macOS or Linux.
Open the app menu and choose Plugins.
Switch on Album Color Theme.
Open its options entry to adjust the settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep the default dark theme for some albums?

The plugin is all-or-nothing per session, but disabling it restores the standard theme immediately without a restart.

Does it affect readability?

Contrast is enforced for text, but very saturated artwork can still look intense. Lowering the effect strength in the options helps.
