TouchBar

TouchBar gives MacBook Pro models with a Touch Bar a custom playback strip: scrubber, play/pause, skip and the current track title, right above the keyboard.

It is a small thing that removes a lot of window switching if your Mac has the hardware.

How to enable TouchBar

Install YouTube Music Desktop App for Windows, macOS or Linux.
Open the app menu and choose Plugins.
Switch on TouchBar.
Open its options entry to adjust the settings.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work on Macs without a Touch Bar?

No. On other Macs, use the Shortcuts plugin for global hotkeys instead.

Can I customise which controls appear?

The layout is fixed to the essential transport controls plus the scrubber.
